A/2C Lawrence I. LaPlante, 18, son of Mrs. Alma B. LaPlante, of 72 Durant St., on his way home for Christmas leave, was killed along with another airman yesterday when the car they were riding in skidded into a truck on U.S. Highway 40 near Wells, Nev.

Also reported dead is John K. Foster, 19, of Glen Burnie, Md.
The driver of the car, Hyrum J. Webb, 20, of Redmond, Utah was hospitalized suffering shock. All three were stationed at McClelland Air Force Base, California.

 LaPlante was born December 13, 1937 in Franklin, N.H., and would have celebrated his 19th birthday Thursday. A graduate of Manchester High School, class of 1955, he entered the service June 29 last year shortly after graduation.

Besides his mother, he leaves a brother, Donald and a sister,
Marlene, both of whom reside with Mrs. LaPlante. Mrs. LaPlante said she received a telegram this morning notifying her of her son’s death and that funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
